R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Residents of Midland recently lost a beloved
 1-2     neighbor and friend with the untimely passing of Neal Clifton, who
 1-3     died on May 14, 2001, in the crash of a Confederate Air Force plane
 1-4     in which he was on a training-familiarization flight; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Clifton was born in Nacogdoches
 1-6     on September 6, 1946; he was a veteran of the United States Air
 1-7     Force who served in Vietnam, and he was employed by the Texas
 1-8     Department of Transportation as a right-of-way administrator; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Clifton had long been an airplane enthusiast,
1-10     and his love of flight led him to become actively involved with the
1-11     Air Volunteer Group, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the
1-12     Confederate Air Force, which seeks to acquire, restore, maintain,
1-13     and fly airplanes from the World War II era; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Mr. Clifton will be greatly missed, but he leaves
1-15     behind a legacy that will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be
1-16     it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Neal Clifton and
1-19     extend sincere sympathy to his family:  to his sons, Brian and Eric
1-20     Clifton; to his sisters, Judy Bowman Pitts and June Clifton; and to
1-21     his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-2     prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 2-3     Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Neal
 2-4     Clifton.
