                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Nora Lisa Cerda from O'Grady Elementary School has
 1-2     received a 2000-2001 Teacher of the Year award from the Mission
 1-3     Consolidated Independent School District, and it is indeed a
 1-4     privilege to commend this committed educator at this time; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The prestigious Teacher of the Year awards are
 1-6     presented to educators who inspire a love of learning in their
 1-7     students while taking an active role in their communities; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, These individuals must also exhibit the ability to
 1-9     work effectively and cooperatively with their colleagues and
1-10     different groups in the community, as well as the desire to keep
1-11     abreast of current educational theories and practices and the
1-12     ability and willingness to make meaningful contributions to the
1-13     field of education; and
1-14           WHEREAS, During eight years of devoted service to the Mission
1-15     district, Nora Lisa Cerda has proven to be an exemplary teacher who
1-16     has undoubtedly made an immeasurable contribution to the education
1-17     of the youth of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-19     Legislature hereby congratulate Nora Lisa Cerda on receiving a
1-20     2000-2001 Teacher of the Year award from the Mission Consolidated
1-21     Independent School District; and, be it further
1-22           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-23     prepared for Nora Lisa Cerda as an expression of high regard by the
1-24     Texas House of Representatives.
