R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On August 28, 2001, Jack and Lynda Chew of San
 1-2     Antonio will celebrate 25 years of living happily ever after; and
 1-3           WHEREAS, Seeking divine inspiration as graduate students in
 1-4     religious education, Mr. and Mrs. Chew's prayers were answered when
 1-5     they met at Southwestern Theological Seminary and found fulfillment
 1-6     not only in their studies, but also in the discovery of a lifelong
 1-7     mate; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, On August 28, 1976, they married at Gamble Street
 1-9     Baptist Church and hit the jackpot with their deep love for one
1-10     another that has remained constant through the years; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Excelling in the professional realm as well,
1-12     Mrs. Chew teaches math and science to elementary school students
1-13     and has been a state nominee for a presidential citation as an
1-14     outstanding math and science teacher; in addition, she has been
1-15     named in Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who Among
1-16     American Women; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Mr. Chew has also distinguished himself as an
1-18     educator and serves as academic dean at Hispanic Baptist
1-19     Theological School, in which capacity he has had a positive effect
1-20     on the lives of many students; and
1-21           WHEREAS, The parents of two daughters, Doise and Charlotte,
1-22     the Chews have supported each other and their children in their
1-23     educational endeavors and in all aspects of their lives, and when
1-24     they can steal away, they enjoy taking students camping in Big Bend
 2-1     and on other exciting field trips, and playing racquetball, though
 2-2     Mr. Chew's interest in playing has somewhat cooled since the little
 2-3     woman accidentally broke his hand in a match; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, For a quarter century, Jack and Lynda Chew have
 2-5     shared an enduring union filled with many happy times, cherished
 2-6     family memories, and competitive sporting moments, and it is indeed
 2-7     a pleasure to honor them for their ongoing romance; now, therefore,
 2-8     be it
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-10     Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Lynda Chew on the occasion
2-11     of their 25th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
2-12     wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-14     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Chew as an expression of high regard by
2-15     the Texas House of Representatives.
