R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes pleasure in
 1-2     honoring Johnny Cace's Seafood & Steak House, a restaurant that has
 1-3     through the years become a Longview landmark; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Founded in 1949 by the late Johnny Cace, a Southern
 1-5     gentleman whose presence at the restaurant each night helped build
 1-6     its reputation for customer satisfaction, the notable East Texas
 1-7     establishment has served generations of local families as well as
 1-8     travelers; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, This highly successful family-owned concern has
1-10     become a source of pride for the community over the course of half
1-11     a century; many area families choose Johnny Cace's Seafood & Steak
1-12     House for their special celebrations; and
1-13           WHEREAS, The restaurant is known for its warmth and
1-14     hospitality and has a delightful tradition of handing out business
1-15     cards with the following Cajun saying:
1-16                             "SAVILLE DAR DEYGO
1-17                            A TOUSAN BUSIS INAROW
1-18                        NOJO DEMSNOT BUSIS DEMS TRUKS
1-19                       SUMMIT COUSIN SUMMIT DUKS"; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Since its inception, when the seating capacity was
1-21     37, the business has been expanded and now seats 450; Mr. Cace and
1-22     his family and staff have built Johnny Cace's Seafood & Steak House
1-23     into a highly admired enterprise and landmark in the Longview
1-24     community; now, therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-2     Legislature hereby commend the Cace family and staff on the many
 2-3     significant contributions the business has made to the economy of
 2-4     Longview; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Johnny Cace's Seafood & Steak House as an expression
 2-7     of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
