R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Adrian Gonzalez has earned the distinction of being
1-2 salutatorian at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial High School, and for
1-3 achieving this auspicious honor he is truly deserving of special
1-4 legislative recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Earning the right to call oneself "salutatorian"
1-6 requires not only intellect and aptitude, but four years of
1-7 dedication to the highest academic standards; the salutatorian must
1-8 display a firm understanding of the entire curriculum, from math
1-9 and science to language arts to social studies, while demonstrating
1-10 an unwavering commitment to education; and
1-11 WHEREAS, The salutatorian serves as a role model and leads by
1-12 example, combining a steadfast vision of excellence with a
1-13 tenacious enthusiasm; the competition for this coveted honor is
1-14 often fierce, although the spirit of the rivalry remains rooted in
1-15 a tradition of goodwill and the rewards of the countless hours of
1-16 study and preparation are myriad; and
1-17 WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez has earned the respect and admiration
1-18 of his friends and classmates at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial High
1-19 School, and as he embraces a future bright with promise it is most
1-20 fitting to pay tribute to him for this outstanding accomplishment;
1-21 now, therefore, be it
1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23 Legislature hereby congratulate Adrian Gonzalez on being named the
1-24 2001 salutatorian at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial High School and
2-1 wish him well in all his future endeavors; and, be it further
2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-3 prepared for Mr. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the
2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
