No. 1371 77R17655 JKB-F R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, So Yeon Paek has earned the distinction of being 1-2 valedictorian at Med High School, and for achieving this auspicious 1-3 honor she is truly deserving of special legislative recognition; 1-4 and 1-5 WHEREAS, Earning the right to call oneself "valedictorian" 1-6 requires not only intellect and aptitude, but four years of 1-7 dedication to the highest academic standards; the valedictorian 1-8 must display a firm understanding of the entire curriculum, from 1-9 math and science to language arts to social studies, while 1-10 demonstrating an unwavering commitment to education; and 1-11 WHEREAS, The valedictorian serves as a role model and leads 1-12 by example, combining a steadfast vision of excellence with a 1-13 tenacious enthusiasm; the competition for this coveted honor is 1-14 often fierce, although the spirit of the rivalry remains rooted in 1-15 a tradition of goodwill and the rewards of the countless hours of 1-16 study and preparation are myriad; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Ms. Paek has earned the respect and admiration of 1-18 her friends and classmates at Med High School, and as she embraces 1-19 a future bright with promise it is most fitting to pay tribute to 1-20 her for this outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby congratulate So Yeon Paek on being named the 1-23 2001 valedictorian at Med High School and wish her well in all her 1-24 future endeavors; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for Ms. Paek as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-3 House of Representatives.
