                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On June 4, 2001, Michael Gene and Cynthia Burnell
 1-2     Knox Figer of Dripping Springs observe a joyous occasion in their
 1-3     marriage as they celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, They met as members of The University of Texas
 1-5     Longhorn Marching Band when both were clarinet section leaders;
 1-6     Mr. Figer and the former Cindy Knox were married on June 4, 1976,
 1-7     at First Baptist Church in Conroe; the couple enjoy a close and
 1-8     loving partnership, and they take great pride in their family,
 1-9     which includes a daughter, Ashley, and two sons, Andrew and
1-10     Patrick; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Mrs. Figer earned a bachelor of business
1-12     administration degree from The University of Texas at Austin and
1-13     owns New Canaan Farms, a gourmet jam and jelly company near
1-14     Dripping Springs, while  Mr. Figer earned his CPA certification
1-15     after college and manages his own accounting practice in South
1-16     Austin; and
1-17           WHEREAS, This respected couple are active in their community
1-18     and teach a popular college Sunday school class at Woodlawn Baptist
1-19     Church, where they are seen as role models for how families should
1-20     work; Mr. Figer also shares his piano playing talent with his
1-21     fellow congregants and has served as a member of the Dripping
1-22     Springs Independent School District board; and
1-23           WHEREAS, To their children, Mr. Figer is the father who
1-24     always puts them first, is outstanding at handling career,
 2-1     community, and church responsibilities, and leaves the milk out on
 2-2     the counter in the mornings; Mrs. Figer is their dearly loved
 2-3     mother whose list-making keeps them in  order and who is convincing
 2-4     in her reasoning that beans and weenies constitute a well-rounded
 2-5     dinner; and
 2-6           WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Figer have shared the trials
 2-7     and triumphs of a quarter-century, and it is indeed appropriate
 2-8     that they be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-10     Legislature hereby congratulate Mike and Cindy Figer on the
2-11     occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary and extend to them best
2-12     wishes for future happiness; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-14     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Figer as an expression of high regard by
2-15     the Texas House of Representatives.
