R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Sean Bradley was recently selected as this year's 1-2 recipient of the coveted Guy Levis Grant Award given by Kappa Alpha 1-3 Psi Fraternity, Inc., and this noteworthy honor is most deserving 1-4 of special recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A native of Daingerfield, Mr. Bradley graduated from 1-6 Stephen F. Austin State University in May 2000, and during his 1-7 career there distinguished himself as a natural leader; the first 1-8 African American president of the student body, he held that post 1-9 from 1998 to 2000; in addition, he served as president of the local 1-10 chapter of his fraternity and as a member of the board of directors 1-11 for the fraternity's Southwestern Province; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The Guy Levis Grant Award is the highest distinction 1-13 the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity can bestow on one of its 1-14 undergraduates; it is conferred on individuals who have served the 1-15 fraternity admirably and who have demonstrated outstanding 1-16 achievement, made contributions resulting in the advancement of the 1-17 fraternity or their community, or performed an unusual act of 1-18 courage; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Currently employed as a legislative aide in the 1-20 Capitol office of State Representative Ruth Jones McClendon, 1-21 Mr. Bradley is an asset both to the Kappa Alpha Psi organization 1-22 and to the State of Texas, and it is a privilege to honor his 1-23 achievements at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby congratulate Sean Bradley on receiving the 2001 2-2 Guy Levis Grant Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for 2-3 continued success in all of his future endeavors; and, be it 2-4 further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for Mr. Bradley as an expression of high regard by the 2-7 Texas House of Representatives.
