                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
 1-2     in honoring a gentleman whose knowledge and experience with regard
 1-3     to this state's legislature are legendary and whose dedicated
 1-4     service is most commendable, executive assistant to the speaker,
 1-5     Barry Miller; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, This year marks Mr. Miller's fourth session as
 1-7     executive assistant in a distinguished tenure with the state that
 1-8     has spanned more than two decades; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, A longstanding veteran of the legislative arena,
1-10     Mr. Miller has demonstrated tremendous commitment both to his
1-11     colleagues and to the State of Texas by working diligently to
1-12     provide the members of this body with the resources they need to
1-13     serve their constituents; he has proven himself to be a loyal
1-14     public servant, and his noteworthy efforts have earned him the
1-15     respect and admiration of all who know him; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Mr. Miller is not only a vital member of Speaker
1-17     Laney's staff, but also a man whom members rely on for his insight
1-18     and counsel as they navigate the host of pressing issues that arise
1-19     each session; renowned for his sound judgment and tireless work
1-20     ethic, this exceptional Texan is truly an asset to the citizens of
1-21     the Lone Star State and to the members of this body; now,
1-22     therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby commend Barry Miller for his outstanding
 2-1     contributions to the legislative process and extend to him sincere
 2-2     best wishes for an enjoyable interim; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for Mr. Miller as an expression of high regard by the
 2-5     Texas House of Representatives.
