                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to certain information submitted by the Health and Human
 1-3     Services Commission to the legislative committees that have
 1-4     jurisdiction over health and human services issues.
 1-5           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-6           SECTION 1. Section 531.171(b), Government Code, is amended to
 1-7     read as follows:
 1-8           (b)  The commission shall provide copies of all required
 1-9     reports to the committees and shall provide the committees with
1-10     copies of proposed rules before the rules are published in the
1-11     Texas Register and advance copies of waiver application submissions
1-12     and amendments or changes to the state plan.  At the request of a
1-13     committee or the commissioner, a health and human services agency
1-14     shall provide other information to the committee, including
1-15     information relating to the health and human services system, and
1-16     shall report on agency progress in implementing statutory
1-17     directives identified by the committee and the directives of the
1-18     commission.
1-19           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately.
