1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the qualifications for a provisional license to 1-3 practice chiropractic. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 201.309, Occupations Code, is amended by 1-6 adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: 1-7 (g) Notwithstanding Subsection (b)(1)(A), an applicant who 1-8 was originally licensed to practice chiropractic in another state 1-9 or foreign country before August 1, 1979, is not ineligible for a 1-10 provisional license because the state or foreign country did not 1-11 have a licensing requirement substantially equivalent to the 1-12 requirements of Section 201.302(a)(3) if the applicant has at least 1-13 20 years' experience in the practice of chiropractic. A person to 1-14 whom a provisional license is issued under this subsection must 1-15 comply with the requirements of Section 201.302(a)(3) not later 1-16 than the third anniversary of the date the provisional license is 1-17 issued. 1-18 SECTION 2. (a) This Act takes effect September 1, 2001. 1-19 (b) The change in law made by this Act applies only to the 1-20 eligibility for a provisional license to practice chiropractic of a 1-21 person who files an application on or after the effective date of 1-22 this Act. The eligibility for a provisional license to practice 1-23 chiropractic of a person who files an application before the 1-24 effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the 1-25 date the application is filed, and the former law is continued in 2-1 effect for that purpose. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I hereby certify that S.B.
