1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to chiropractic facility licenses issued by the Texas
 1-3     Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Subsection (b), Section 201.312, Occupations
 1-6     Code, is amended to read as follows:
 1-7           (b)  The rules adopted under this section must:
 1-8                 (1)  specify the licensing requirements for a
 1-9     chiropractic facility;
1-10                 (2)  prescribe the structure of the facility licensing
1-11     program; and
1-12                 (3)  provide for the issuance of [only] one facility
1-13     license to an owner of a chiropractic facility for each [without
1-14     regard to the number of] chiropractic facility [facilities] owned
1-15     by the owner.
1-16           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
1-17           SECTION 3.  This Act applies only to a chiropractic facility
1-18     license that is issued or renewed on or after September 1, 2001.  A
1-19     license that is issued or renewed before September 1, 2001, is
1-20     governed by the law in effect on the day the license is issued or
1-21     renewed, and that former law is continued in effect for that
1-22     purpose.
