1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the designation of a portion of Interstate Highway 30
 1-3     between Dallas and Fort Worth as the Tom Landry Highway.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,
 1-6     is amended by adding Section 225.046 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 225.046.  TOM LANDRY HIGHWAY.  (a)  Interstate Highway
 1-8     30 between Interstate 35E in Dallas and Interstate 35W in Fort
 1-9     Worth is designated as the Tom Landry Highway.
1-10           (b)  The department shall design and construct memorial
1-11     markers indicating the highway number, the designation as the Tom
1-12     Landry Highway, and any other appropriate information.  The
1-13     department shall include a depiction of a fedora on each marker
1-14     designed and constructed under this section.
1-15           (c)  The department shall erect a marker at each end of the
1-16     highway and at appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.
1-17           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1-18     a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1-19     provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
1-20     Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1-21     Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
