                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to permit fees for on-site sewage disposal systems.
 1-3           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1.   Section 366.058(b), Health and Safety Code, is
 1-5     amended to read as follows:
 1-6           (b)  The commission at its discretion may provide variances
 1-7     to the uniform application of the permit fee.  The commission may
 1-8     not allow the fee for a permit issued by an authorized agent to
 1-9     exceed $225 and may not allow the fee charged by an authorized
1-10     agent for the transfer of a permit to a new owner of a permitted
1-11     system to exceed $10.
1-12           SECTION 2.   This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
