1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the application of a seal to an electronic document. 1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-4 SECTION 1. Section 121.004, Civil Practice and Remedies 1-5 Code, is amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: 1-6 (d) The application of an embossed seal is not required on 1-7 an electronically transmitted certificate of an acknowledgement. 1-8 SECTION 2. Section 406.013, Government Code, is amended by 1-9 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: 1-10 (d) Subsection (c) does not apply to an electronically 1-11 transmitted authenticated document, except that an electronically 1-12 transmitted authenticated document must legibly reproduce the 1-13 required elements of the seal. 1-14 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 1-15 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 1-16 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.
