                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to repealing the statutes governing the decennial
 1-3     reapportionment of the judicial districts by the Judicial Districts
 1-4     Board.
 1-5           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-6           SECTION 1.  Subchapter F, Chapter 24, Government Code, is
 1-7     repealed.
 1-8           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect January 1, 2002, but only
 1-9     if the constitutional amendment proposed by the 77th Legislature,
1-10     Regular Session, 2001, to repeal the constitutional requirement for
1-11     decennial reapportionment of the judicial districts and to abolish
1-12     the Judicial Districts Board, is approved by the voters.  If that
1-13     proposed constitutional amendment is not approved by the voters,
1-14     this Act has no effect.
