No. 439 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed January 29, 2001; January 30, 2001, 1-3 read first time and referred to Committee on Health and Human 1-4 Services; February 8, 2001, reported favorably by the following 1-5 vote: Yeas 8, Nays 0; February 8, 2001, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to the match requirement for the receipt of state funds by 1-9 certain organizations providing chemical dependency treatment 1-10 services. 1-11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-12 SECTION 1. Subsection (f), Section 461.014, Health and 1-13 Safety Code, is amended to read as follows: 1-14 (f) An organization or other entity is not eligible for a 1-15 grant of state funds from the commission unless the organization or 1-16 entity provides matching funds in either cash or in-kind 1-17 contributions equal to at least five percent of the total grant of 1-18 state funds from the commission. The commission may waive that 1-19 requirement if the commission determines that the requirement may 1-20 jeopardize the provision of needed services. 1-21 SECTION 2.
