1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the designation of Farm-to-Market Road 528 as the Ralph
 1-3     L. Lowe Parkway.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,
 1-6     is amended by adding Section 225.044 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 225.044.  RALPH L. LOWE PARKWAY.  (a)  Farm-to-Market
 1-8     Road 528 in the city of Friendswood is designated as the Ralph L.
 1-9     Lowe Parkway.
1-10           (b)  The department shall design and construct memorial
1-11     markers indicating the designation as the Ralph L. Lowe Parkway and
1-12     any other appropriate information.
1-13           (c)  The department shall erect a marker at each end of the
1-14     parkway and at appropriate intermediate sites along the parkway.
1-15           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1-16     a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1-17     provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
1-18     Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1-19     Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
