1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to applicability of the Texas Youth Camp Safety and Health
 1-3     Act to facilities or programs operated by or on the campus of an
 1-4     institution of higher education.
 1-5           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-6           SECTION 1.  Chapter 141, Health and Safety Code, is amended
 1-7     by adding Section 141.0021 to read as follows:
 1-8           Sec. 141.0021.  EXEMPTION.  This chapter does not apply to a
 1-9     facility or program operated by or on the campus of an institution
1-10     of higher education or a private or independent institution of
1-11     higher education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code.
1-12           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1-13     a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1-14     provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
1-15     Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1-16     Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
