 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-7                                   AN ACT
 1-8     relating to evaluating drug purchasing cooperatives.
 1-9           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-10           SECTION 1.  Chapter 108, Health and Safety Code, is amended
1-11     by adding Section 108.0062 to read as follows:
1-12           Sec. 108.0062.  DRUG PURCHASING COOPERATIVES.  (a)  The
1-13     council shall develop criteria for evaluating drug purchasing
1-14     cooperatives and create an evaluation form for consumers to
1-15     evaluate drug purchasing cooperatives.
1-16           (b)  The council shall distribute the evaluation forms to the
1-17     department, local health departments, the Texas Department of
1-18     Insurance, and the consumer protection division of the office of
1-19     the attorney general.
1-20           (c)  The council shall compile the information from completed
1-21     evaluation forms and make the information available to the public.
1-22           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
