1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the disposition by municipalities of property in
 1-3     certain air navigation facilities.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Section 22.024, Transportation Code, is amended
 1-6     by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
 1-7           (d)  Notwithstanding Subsection (a), the competitive bidding
 1-8     requirements of Chapters 252 and 272, Local Government Code, do not
 1-9     apply to an exchange, sale, lease, or other disposition of land or
1-10     other real property interest by a municipality if:
1-11                 (1)  the land or other property interest is part of an
1-12     air navigation facility that is a former military installation; and
1-13                 (2)  the disposition:
1-14                       (A)  is part of a plan to redevelop the facility
1-15     as an airport-related industrial park or community; and
1-16                       (B)  promotes the best interest of the
1-17     municipality.
1-18           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
