1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the administration and jurisdiction of the statutory
1-3 county courts in Denton County and to the operation of the
1-4 statutory probate court in Denton County.
1-5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-6 SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 25.0631, Government Code,
1-7 is amended to read as follows:
1-8 (c) The statutory county courts of Denton County sit in the
1-9 county seat or at another location in the county as assigned by the
1-10 local administrative statutory county court judge. The statutory
1-11 probate court of Denton County sits in the county seat and may
1-12 conduct docket matters at other locations in the county as the
1-13 statutory probate court judge considers necessary for the
1-14 protection of wards or mental health respondents or as otherwise
1-15 provided by law.
1-16 SECTION 2. Subsection (b), Section 25.0633, and Subsections
1-17 (c) and (d), Section 25.0634, Government Code, are repealed.
1-18 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1-19 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1-20 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1-21 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1-22 Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
