No. 1094 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed March 5, 2001; March 6, 2001, read 1-3 first time and referred to Committee on Intergovernmental 1-4 Relations; March 28, 2001, reported favorably by the following 1-5 vote: Yeas 7, Nays 0; March 28, 2001, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to the administration and jurisdiction of the statutory 1-9 county courts in Denton County and to the operation of the 1-10 statutory probate court in Denton County. 1-11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-12 SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 25.0631, Government Code, 1-13 is amended to read as follows: 1-14 (c) The statutory county courts of Denton County sit in the 1-15 county seat or at another location in the county as assigned by the 1-16 local administrative statutory county court judge. The statutory 1-17 probate court of Denton County sits in the county seat and may 1-18 conduct docket matters at other locations in the county as the 1-19 statutory probate court judge considers necessary for the 1-20 protection of wards or mental health respondents or as otherwise 1-21 provided by law. 1-22 SECTION 2. Subsection (b), Section 25.0633, and Subsections 1-23 (c) and (d), Section 25.0634, Government Code, are repealed. 1-24 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 1-25 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 1-26 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this 1-27 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 1-28 Act takes effect September 1, 2001. 1-29 * * * * *
