1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to information included on the Internet website of the
 1-3     Texas Department of Transportation.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 223, Transportation Code,
 1-6     is amended by adding Section 223.0042 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 223.0042.  CONTRACT INFORMATION ON INTERNET WEBSITE.
 1-8     The department shall make available on the department's Internet
 1-9     website a listing describing each contract awarded by the
1-10     commission for a highway construction project.  The listing must
1-11     include for each project:
1-12                 (1)  the funding program source contract awardee,
1-13     including subcontractors and historically underutilized business
1-14     and disadvantaged business enterprise participants and percentage
1-15     of contract; and
1-16                 (2)  each department transportation district in which
1-17     the contract will be performed.
1-18           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
