1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to validating certain actions and the boundaries of the 1-3 Acton Municipal Utility District. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. DEFINITION. In this Act, "district" means the 1-6 Acton Municipal Utility District. 1-7 SECTION 2. VALIDATION. The following actions and 1-8 annexations of the district are validated and confirmed as if the 1-9 actions and annexations had been done as authorized by law: 1-10 (1) any resolution, order, or other act or attempted 1-11 act of the board of directors of the district relating to an 1-12 annexation by the district taken before the effective date of this 1-13 Act; and 1-14 (2) any annexation by the district since its creation. 1-15 SECTION 3. VALIDATION OF BOUNDARIES. A mistake in the field notes or in copying the field 139-3 notes in the legislative process does not affect the organization, 139-4 existence, or validity of the district, the right of the district 139-5 to levy and collect taxes, or the legality or operation of the 139-6 district or its governing body. 139-7 SECTION 5. EFFECT ON LITIGATION. This Act does not apply to 139-8 any matter that on the effective date of this Act: 139-9 (1) is involved in litigation, if the litigation 139-10 ultimately results in the matter being held invalid by a final 139-11 judgment of a court; or 139-12 (2) has been held invalid by a final judgment of a 139-13 court. 139-14 SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect 139-15 immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members 139-16 elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, 139-17 Texas Constitution.
