1-1 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, It is a time-honored custom that the portrait of 1-3 each outgoing Governor of the State of Texas be hung in the Texas 1-4 Capitol along with those of previous Texas governors; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Governor George W. Bush, 46th Governor of the State 1-6 of Texas, resigned as governor after his election as President of 1-7 the United States; now, therefore, be it 1-8 RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, the House of 1-9 Representatives concurring, That the 77th Legislature direct that a 1-10 suitable portrait of Governor George W. Bush be placed in an 1-11 appropriate location in the Texas Capitol with the portraits of 1-12 other governors of Texas; the portrait and the charge for such 1-13 portrait may be made by an artist agreeable with Governor Bush, the 1-14 lieutenant governor, the Chairman of the Committee on 1-15 Administration of the Senate, the speaker of the house of 1-16 representatives, and the Chairman of the House Administration 1-17 Committee; before the portrait is accepted and placed by the State 1-18 Preservation Board, it shall have the approval of the lieutenant 1-19 governor, the Chairman of the Committee on Administration of the 1-20 Senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the 1-21 Chairman of the House Administration Committee; and, be it further 1-22 RESOLVED, That a sufficient sum of money be provided through 1-23 the Committee on Administration of the Senate and the House 1-24 Administration Committee of the House of Representatives to pay the 1-25 artist's charges for the portrait. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I hereby certify that S.C.R.
