 1-1                        SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-3     designate the American Combat Airman Hall of Fame as the official
 1-4     Combat Hall of Fame of the State of Texas; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Confederate Air Force, the American
 1-6     Combat Airman Hall of Fame was established in 1997 to honor
 1-7     American fliers whose service during any war or conflict brings
 1-8     great honor to the fighting men and women of the United States; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, While some aeronautical honor associations recognize
1-10     astronauts, aircraft designers and builders, or aviation record
1-11     holders, the American Combat Airman Hall of Fame only recognizes
1-12     American combat aircrew who have risked their lives in defense of
1-13     their nation; and
1-14           WHEREAS, This esteemed organization has thus far inducted 30
1-15     outstanding Americans and four organizations and will induct seven
1-16     more individuals and one additional organization in 2001; and
1-17           WHEREAS, The men and women who serve in our armed forces as
1-18     pilots and aircrew perform an imperative service for all United
1-19     States citizens; they willingly risk their lives for our nation's
1-20     security, and they have earned our admiration and respect for their
1-21     strength, valor, and expertise in the field of aviation; now,
1-22     therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-24     hereby recognize the American Combat Airman Hall of Fame as the
 2-1     official Combat Hall of Fame of the State of Texas; and, be it
 2-2     further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared to honor
 2-4     this fine organization and the exceptional men and women in its
 2-5     ranks.
