No. 63 2001S1486/1 1-1 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-3 designate the American Combat Airman Hall of Fame as the official 1-4 Combat Hall of Fame of the State of Texas; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Confederate Air Force, the American 1-6 Combat Airman Hall of Fame was established in 1997 to honor 1-7 American fliers whose service during any war or conflict brings 1-8 great honor to the fighting men and women of the United States; 1-9 and 1-10 WHEREAS, While some aeronautical honor associations recognize 1-11 astronauts, aircraft designers and builders, or aviation record 1-12 holders, the American Combat Airman Hall of Fame only recognizes 1-13 American combat aircrew who have risked their lives in defense of 1-14 their nation; and 1-15 WHEREAS, This esteemed organization has thus far inducted 30 1-16 outstanding Americans and four organizations and will induct seven 1-17 more individuals and one additional organization in 2001; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The men and women who serve in our armed forces as 1-19 pilots and aircrew perform an imperative service for all United 1-20 States citizens; they willingly risk their lives for our nation's 1-21 security, and they have earned our admiration and respect for their 1-22 strength, valor, and expertise in the field of aviation; now, 1-23 therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-1 hereby recognize the American Combat Airman Hall of Fame as the 2-2 official Combat Hall of Fame of the State of Texas; and, be it 2-3 further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared to honor 2-5 this fine organization and the exceptional men and women in its 2-6 ranks.
