                                 A JOINT RESOLUTION
 1-1     proposing a constitutional amendment to repeal the constitutional
 1-2     requirement for decennial reapportionment of the judicial districts
 1-3     and to abolish the Judicial Districts Board.
 1-4           BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 7a, Article V, Texas Constitution, is
 1-6     repealed.
 1-7           SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
 1-8     submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 6, 2001.
 1-9     The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
1-10     proposition: "The constitutional amendment to repeal the
1-11     constitutional requirement for decennial reapportionment of the
1-12     state's judicial districts and to abolish the Judicial Districts
1-13     Board."
