 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 11
 1-3           WHEREAS, It is a distinct pleasure for the Texas Senate
 1-4     to recognize Terrence Compton Persaud, Jr., of Houston, on
 1-5     achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young man joined
 1-6     the elite corps of Eagles recently and was presented the coveted
 1-7     Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only two
 1-9     out of every 100 boys in the Boy Scout program ever attain the
1-10     rank of Eagle Scout; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
1-12     promise, Terrence advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
1-13     Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout;
1-14     and
1-15           WHEREAS, This personable young man has displayed leadership
1-16     through planning, developing, and conducting a service project;
1-17     he is truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts and citizens
1-18     of his community; and
1-19           WHEREAS, In being named Eagle Scout, Terrence brings
1-20     great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community,
 2-1     and his state; now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-3     77th Legislature, hereby commend Terrence Compton Persaud, Jr.,
 2-4     of Troop 277 on receiving this prestigious honor and congratulate
 2-5     him on his outstanding achievement; and, be it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-7     Eagle Scout Persaud as an expression of high regard and esteem
 2-8     from the Texas Senate.
