 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 42
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
 1-4     recognizing the participants in the TALL VII class of the Texas
 1-5     Agricultural Lifetime Leadership program; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership
 1-7     program is part of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service and
 1-8     is now in its 14th year of operation; the program is designed
 1-9     for men and women who are in the early stages of their leadership
1-10     careers, and applicants must be residents of Texas and actively
1-11     involved in farming, ranching, or a business closely related to
1-12     agriculture; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Candidates for the program are reviewed
1-14     for leadership integrity and effectiveness, analytical and
1-15     communicative skills, potential for growth, and vocational
1-16     commitment; and
1-17           WHEREAS, The goals of the program are to identify and
1-18     support emerging leaders, to heighten their knowledge of
1-19     current issues, and to increase their personal involvement
1-20     in state and local activities that contribute to the growth
1-21     of Texas agriculture; and
1-22           WHEREAS, The TALL VII class consists of 25 leaders in
1-23     agriculture ranging from 25 to 45 years in age; during a
1-24     two-year span, these participants will tour throughout the
 2-1     State of Texas and visit Mexico, Washington, D.C., New York,
 2-2     Poland, and Russia; the class will attend its third session
 2-3     in Austin to learn firsthand about state government and
 2-4     agricultural representation and its effects; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, The members of the TALL VII class are devoting
 2-6     their time and energy to discovering how to solve the complex
 2-7     issues facing the agriculture industry today, and they deserve
 2-8     recognition for their dedication and hard work; now, therefore,
 2-9     be it
2-10           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-11     77th Legislature, hereby congratulate the members of the TALL VII
2-12     class on their selection as participants in this esteemed program
2-13     and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2-14           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-15     TALL VII class as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
