 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 44
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-4     recognize Eugene Sepulveda on the grand occasion of his 40th
 1-5     birthday, which is taking place February 4, 2001; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Eugene Sepulveda graduated magna cum laude from
 1-7     Texas A&M University in 1983 and joined Texas Commerce Bank-Austin,
 1-8     where he served as vice president of Technology Lending until
 1-9     1988; he then served as a senior vice president for First City,
1-10     Texas-San Antonio and First City, Texas-Austin before becoming the
1-11     chief financial officer for Minco Technology Labs, Incorporated,
1-12     in 1994; since June of 1999, he has served as director of Firm
1-13     Development for PricewaterhouseCoopers; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Eugene is respected for his many accomplishments
1-15     and for his outstanding leadership in the Austin community; in 1998,
1-16     he was the recipient of the Austin Under Forty Award from the Young
1-17     Men's Business League, and in 1999, he received the Bill Ramsey
1-18     Lifetime Achievement Award from the Human Rights Campaign; and
1-19           WHEREAS, His past community activities include serving as a
1-20     member of the board of directors for Leadership Education and
1-21     Public Service and the board of trustees for the Texas Human Rights
1-22     Foundation; he has been a member of AIDS Services of Austin and was
1-23     chairman of the Greater Austin International Business Roundtable;
 2-1     he served on the board of directors for Austin Youth Hostels; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Mr. Sepulveda is currently serving on the board of
 2-3     directors for the Austin Museum of Art, the Greater Austin Chamber
 2-4     of Commerce, Leadership Austin, the Artists Repertory Theatre of
 2-5     Texas, and Texas Freedom Network; he is emeritus board member of
 2-6     the Human Rights Campaign and is a trustee for the Johnston High
 2-7     School Education Foundation; and
 2-8           WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman who has distinguished himself
 2-9     in his career and in his many civic activities, Eugene Sepulveda
2-10     deserves recognition for his exceptional accomplishments; now,
2-11     therefore, be it
2-12           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-13     77th Legislature, hereby express appreciation to Eugene Sepulveda
2-14     for his outstanding contributions to his city and state and extend
2-15     best wishes to him on the joyous occasion of his 40th birthday;
2-16     and, be it further
2-17           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
2-18     as a memento of this joyous occasion.
