1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 52
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-3     recognize Sharon Suzanne Marshall on her 30 years of outstanding
 1-4     service with the Texas Department of Insurance; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, By ensuring that a $65-billion industry is
 1-6     regulated, the Texas Department of Insurance performs an
 1-7     invaluable service, and the agency depends on the hard work and
 1-8     dedication of its employees to carry out its important functions;
 1-9     and
1-10           WHEREAS, Sharon Marshall was inspired by her mentor and
1-11     father, Aubrey L. White, to join the Texas Department of Insurance
1-12     in 1971; she began her career in the Agents License Division and
1-13     later joined the Claims and Complaints Division; in 1981, she was
1-14     promoted to the position of word processor in the Mail Distribution
1-15     Center; and
1-16           WHEREAS, In 1993, the Mail Distribution Center became a part
1-17     of the Consumer Protection Division, where Sharon continued to
1-18     work and was promoted to Administrative Technician I; she is now
1-19     an Administrative Technician II, whose responsibilities include
1-20     analyzing life, accident, and health complaints, preparing
1-21     legislative files, and writing weekly reports for the Life and
1-22     Health director; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Over the last 30 years, Sharon Marshall has
1-24     handled her responsibilities with exceptional dedication, and
1-25     she is known throughout the department for her organizational
 2-1     skills, her dependability, and her reliable judgment; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Sharon Marshall is an exemplary lady who brings
 2-3     professionalism and a wide range of experience to her duties in
 2-4     the Consumer Protection Division, and she deserves recognition
 2-5     for her many years of outstanding work; now, therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-7     77th Legislature, hereby commend Sharon Marshall on her invaluable
 2-8     contributions to the Texas Department of Insurance and extend to
 2-9     her best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
2-11     as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
