 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 53
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-4     recognize Richard Baker on his 30 years of outstanding service
 1-5     with the Texas Department of Insurance; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, By ensuring that a $65-billion industry is
 1-7     regulated, the Texas Department of Insurance performs an invaluable
 1-8     service, and the agency depends on the hard work and dedication of
 1-9     its employees to carry out its important functions; and
1-10           WHEREAS, A native of Georgetown, Texas, Richard Baker began
1-11     his successful career with the Texas Department of Insurance
1-12     following his graduation from Southwest Texas State University
1-13     in 1970; and
1-14           WHEREAS, He has served as a crew chief for Mobile Commercial
1-15     Property Rating and was a manager/inspector for the Commercial
1-16     Property Rating Field Office in Lubbock; he was a territorial
1-17     manager in Austin and an Inspections and Fire Safety manager; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Currently a manager in Property and Casualty,
1-19     Richard has inspected commercial properties across our state
1-20     and has relocated 12 times, in cities from Brownsville to Amarillo;
1-21     his department is in charge of commercial property oversight
1-22     inspections and loss control regulations; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Over the last 30 years, Richard Baker has handled
 2-2     his responsibilities with exceptional dedication, and he is well
 2-3     known throughout the department for his expertise in his field; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, Richard Baker is an exemplary gentleman and
 2-5     administrator who brings the highest degree of professionalism
 2-6     to his duties as a manager in Property and Casualty, and he
 2-7     deserves recognition for his many years of outstanding work;
 2-8     now, therefore, be it
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-10     77th Legislature, hereby commend Richard Baker on his invaluable
2-11     contributions to the Texas Department of Insurance and extend to
2-12     him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
2-14     for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
