 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 108
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Texas Senate takes pride in recognizing
 1-4     Kelly R. Wiley, who is one of the outstanding women selected
 1-5     by the Epsilon Chapter of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated,
 1-6     as an Unsung Hero; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, The Second Unsung Heroes Luncheon is being held
 1-8     on February 3, 2001, in Dallas to recognize noteworthy persons in
 1-9     the Metroplex area whose accomplishments have gone unnoticed; and
1-10           WHEREAS, A business and professional organization with
1-11     chapters in the United States and the United States Virgin Islands,
1-12     Eta Phi Beta was chartered in 1942 to encourage and support higher
1-13     scholastic standards, personal growth, career awareness, and
1-14     opportunities for community service; and
1-15           WHEREAS, The co-founder and executive director of the 2000
1-16     Roses Foundation, Incorporated, a community-based organization
1-17     whose mission is to provide services for women in transition,
1-18     Kelly Wiley maintains the fiduciary and program oversight of
1-19     the residential program; and
1-20           WHEREAS, A woman with 15 years of experience in the
1-21     nonprofit sector, Kelly Wiley was the Volunteer Coordinator for
1-22     the Salvation Army for three years; through her broad-based
 2-1     experience with the Teens Back on Track program, she determined
 2-2     service needs of families and children who were classified as at
 2-3     risk; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, The winners of this award are notable citizens
 2-5     in their communities, and their activities have earned them the
 2-6     respect and admiration of their colleagues; now, therefore,
 2-7     be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-9     77th Legislature, hereby commend and congratulate Kelly R. Wiley
2-10     on her selection as one of the Unsung Heroes by the Eta Phi Beta
2-11     Sorority, Incorporated, and wish her well in the future; and, be
2-12     it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-14     her as an expression of highest regard from the Texas Senate.
