1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Constancio Garcia 1-6 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate joins the citizens of San Antonio 1-7 in mourning the death of Constancio "Joe" Garcia, who died on 1-8 January 23, 2001, at the age of 75; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, Joe served his country 1-10 honorably and earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for wounds he 1-11 received during his service; he was a member of Veterans of Foreign 1-12 Wars; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Joe Garcia married his beloved wife, Hortencia, and 1-14 they raised their family with warmth and care; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of San Antonio, Mr. Garcia 1-16 retired in 1987 from Southwestern Drug after an exemplary 46-year 1-17 career; he was admired by his colleagues and friends alike; and 1-18 WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is 1-19 remembered for the affection, confidence, and loyalty he inspired 1-20 in those with whom he was associated; and 1-21 WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of his community, 2-1 Joe Garcia will be remembered for his devotion to his family and 2-2 friends; he leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment which 2-3 will be cherished by those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, 2-4 be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-6 77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 2-7 members of the family of Constancio "Joe" Garcia: his wife, 2-8 Hortencia G.
