1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 129 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Alice D. Mouton 1-6 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the 1-7 citizens of Houston in mourning the passing of Alice D. Mouton, 1-8 who died November 28, 2000; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A woman dedicated to her family, she will be fondly 1-10 remembered for her kindness, her generosity of spirit, and her 1-11 deep religious convictions; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on December 4, 1924, 1-13 the daughter of Henry and Mary Arline Dorsey, Alice attended 1-14 Peabody Community School in Alexandria and Jack Yates High School 1-15 in Houston; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Accepting Christ into her life at an early age, 1-17 she practiced her faith in her daily life and was an active and 1-18 faithful member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church; and 1-19 WHEREAS, After marrying her beloved husband, 1-20 Deacon Kenneth Mouton, the devoted couple shared 53 years of 1-21 love and happiness and were blessed with two children, four 2-1 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; and 2-2 WHEREAS, The loss of such a spiritually generous woman is 2-3 felt not only by her family and many friends, but also by the 2-4 many people who benefitted from her generosity of spirit; now, 2-5 therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-7 77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 2-8 family of Alice D. Mouton: her husband, Kenneth Mouton; 2-9 her son, Larry Wayne Taylor; her daughter and son-in-law, 2-10 Stephanie Kaye Mouton-Fuller and Charles Fuller; her sister, 2-11 Claretha Bonner; and her four grandchildren and six 2-12 great-grandchildren; and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-14 family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, 2-15 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-16 Alice D.
