1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 158 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Wayne Wyatt 1-6 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins citizens 1-7 throughout the state in mourning the death of an exemplary 1-8 Texan, Wayne Wyatt; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Born August 5, 1935, in Girard, Texas, Wayne grew 1-10 up in Kent and Dickens counties; after graduating from Girard 1-11 High School in 1953, he began his career with the state in 1957, 1-12 serving as a field representative for the High Plains Underground 1-13 Water Conservation District 1; and 1-14 WHEREAS, In 1968, Wayne began his tenure with the Texas Water 1-15 Development Board; over the course of 10 years, he served the 1-16 organization in various capacities, always carrying out his duties 1-17 with consummate professionalism; and 1-18 WHEREAS, A proven leader and administrator, Wayne assumed 1-19 the duties of general manager of the High Plains Water District 1-20 on February 1, 1978; and 2-1 WHEREAS, Under Wayne's direction, the High Plains Water 2-2 District received numerous honors for its conservation efforts, 2-3 among them the Outstanding Water Conservationist Award from the 2-4 Groundwater Management Districts Association, the Irrigation 2-5 Association's Water Conservationist of the Year Award, and the 2-6 National Water and Energy Conservation Award; and 2-7 WHEREAS, A nationally recognized expert on ground water 2-8 management, Wayne was honored by many professional organizations; 2-9 the Gerald W.
