 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
 1-4     recognize Lee High School of Midland, Texas, on its third
 1-5     consecutive Class 5A state football championship; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, The annals of sports history will reflect the
 1-7     skill and determination of the Lee Rebels as they closed their
 1-8     2000 season with yet another championship title; tying the record
 1-9     that was last set 44 years ago in Class 4A, the championship wins
1-10     are a feat unprecedented in Class 5A which has been in existence
1-11     since 1980; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
1-13     Head Coach John Parchman, and Assistant Coaches Scott Hicks,
1-14     Randy Josey, Corby Maurer, Joel Gotcher, Mike Meeks,
1-15     Danny Neighbors, Kelvin Ratliff, Ronnie Reeger, Randy Smith,
1-16     and Dennis Bryant, the Rebels generated excitement all season
1-17     culminating in yet another championship title; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The Midland Lee Rebels, Tim Norman, Damon Johnson,
1-19     Michael Wynn, Ashley Jackson, Michael Skinner, Matt Ratliff,
1-20     Fletcher Pendergrass, J. R. Brown, Nick Hand, Cody Grasmick,
1-21     Jeff Hughes, Pete Bryant, Paul Gonzales, Mark Gonzales,
1-22     Jernard Lee, Josh Chapman, Freddie Jones, Cedric Benson,
1-23     Matt Miller, Robert Rogers, Shawn Murphy, Justin Rossiter,
 2-1     Drew Davis, Jacoby Kendrick, Landon Little, Price Thompson,
 2-2     Brad Fryrear, Jacob Jansen, David Dakil, Nathan Billingsley,
 2-3     Jared Dangerfield, Hyatt Harvey, Cody Weckworth, Mark Duarte,
 2-4     Peter Hanson, Jacob Gosch, Scott Young, George Duarte,
 2-5     Lorenzo Orosco, Clayton Smith, Jeremy Newton, Chad Owens,
 2-6     Josh Bennet, Chad Acevedo, Tyler Richardson, Heath Jones,
 2-7     David Suchil, Brad Stovall, Phillip Coleman, Jody Walser,
 2-8     Jacob Martinez, David Hale, Cary Lemons, Eric Winston,
 2-9     Jacoby Hartley, Paul Green, Lavance Gambrell, Fred Thrweatt,
2-10     Dwight Washington, and Marcellus Roberts are truly deserving
2-11     of the title they worked so hard to attain; and
2-12           WHEREAS, Recognizing the outstanding young people of our
2-13     state is one of the pleasurable tasks of the Texas Senate, and
2-14     the Lee High School Rebels are truly deserving of legislative
2-15     recognition; now, therefore, be it
2-16           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-17     77th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Lee High School Rebels
2-18     on winning the Class 5A state football championship title; and,
2-19     be it further
2-20           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
2-21     for the Rebels as a memento of this outstanding achievement.
