 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 197
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Hispanic Association of Communications Employees
 1-4     of SBC (HACEMOS) is observing February 22, 2001, as HACEMOS High
 1-5     Technology Day, and the Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
 1-6     recognize this impressive group of volunteers; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, A well-known organization of over 1,200 members and
 1-8     21 chapters, the Hispanic Association of Communications Employees
 1-9     of SBC was established in November, 1988; and
1-10           WHEREAS, HACEMOS is a nonprofit and nonpartisan group of
1-11     retired and active employees of SBC Communications, Incorporated;
1-12     and
1-13           WHEREAS, Committed to encouraging diversity in the
1-14     workplace, the members of HACEMOS are interested in providing
1-15     equal opportunities for all; they also strongly support
1-16     education for all in the community; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Placing great value on careers in high technology,
1-18     HACEMOS encourages young people to seek occupations in this field;
1-19     now, therefore,  be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-2     77th Legislature, hereby commend HACEMOS on its many
 2-3     accomplishments and worthy goals and extend congratulations
 2-4     to the Hispanic Association of Communications Employees of
 2-5     SBC Communications, Incorporated, as it celebrates High
 2-6     Technology Day; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-8     HACEMOS as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
