 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 207
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-4     recognize Jeanette Smith, who retired December 31, 2000, after
 1-5     many years of dedicated service to the State of Texas; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Beginning her widely diverse public service
 1-7     in 1970 as a secretary for the Kerrville State Hospital, she
 1-8     joined the State Parole Office in 1979 and served Texas College
 1-9     of Osteopathic Medicine, which later became the University of
1-10     North Texas Health Science Center, in human resource services
1-11     starting in 1987; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Her varied duties at each of her positions were
1-13     handled with efficiency and dedication to the people she so
1-14     conscientiously served; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Jean set a high standard of professionalism
1-16     throughout her tenure, inspiring others by her loyalty,
1-17     dependability, and exemplary conduct; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The esteemed individual earned the respect and
1-19     admiration of all those with whom she has been associated,
1-20     and it is indeed fitting that the Texas Senate pay tribute
 2-1     to Jeanette Smith on the occasion of her retirement; now,
 2-2     therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-4     77th Legislature, hereby express its gratitude to Jeanette Smith
 2-5     for her outstanding career of service and dedication; and, be
 2-6     it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-8     her as a token of high regard from the Texas Senate.
