1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 285 1-3 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to recognize the 1-4 members of the Pearl Hall Elementary School Fifth Grade Choir on 1-5 the occasion of their visit to Austin, where they are performing 1-6 during "Arts Education Day at the Capitol" on March 5, 2001; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Under the direction of music educators Pat Surface 1-8 and Jami Lupold, this unique group of young entertainers from South 1-9 Houston delights individuals of all ages with their talent and 1-10 enthusiasm for performing; the Pearl Hall singers are in concert 1-11 frequently at a number of venues throughout their community, and 1-12 they participate in a citywide music festival every other year; and 1-13 WHEREAS, During "Arts Education Day," the Pearl Hall Choir 1-14 will perform in the rotunda of the Capitol and on its south steps; 1-15 choir members also will assist with the distribution of original 1-16 student art and packets providing information on the importance of 1-17 art education in our public schools; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The members of the Pearl Hall Elementary School 1-19 Fifth Grade Choir have demonstrated great dedication, discipline, 1-20 and talent while representing their community, and it is most 2-1 appropriate that these exceptional young people be honored at this 2-2 time; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-4 77th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Pearl Hall 2-5 Elementary School Fifth Grade Choir on the occasion of their visit 2-6 to the State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for 2-7 continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 2-9 prepared for the Pearl Hall Elementary School Fifth Grade Choir 2-10 as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-11 Jackson 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 President of the Senate 2-14 I hereby certify that the above 2-15 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-16 on January 19, 2001. 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Secretary of the Senate 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Member, Texas Senate
