 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 341
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-4     recognize Julianne Smith Acevedo on the grand occasion of her
 1-5     40th birthday on March 3, 2001; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Julianne Smith was born March 3, 1961, in Wharton,
 1-7     Texas; she graduated from Wharton High School and earned a
 1-8     University Interscholastic League state championship title in
 1-9     girls' doubles tennis; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Julianne worked as an intern in Washington, D.C.,
1-11     for Congressman Joe Wyatt in 1980 and served on the legislative
1-12     staff of Representative Tom Uher in 1981; she also worked in the
1-13     legal office of Senator David Cain; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Julianne graduated from The University of Texas in
1-15     1983 and married Adrian Acevedo on July 16 of that same year; the
1-16     couple has been blessed with two children, Travis Gregory and
1-17     Carter Hodges; and
1-18           WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Julianne is respected for her
1-19     accomplishments and her leadership in the community and in
1-20     educational affairs; she is devoted to her family and is dedicated
 2-1     to her work as a homemaker, and her 40th birthday is a cause for
 2-2     much celebration; now, therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-4     77th Legislature, hereby commend Julianne Smith Acevedo for
 2-5     her achievements and extend to her best wishes for the future
 2-6     on the joyous occasion of her 40th birthday; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
 2-8     as a memento of this occasion.
