1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 348 1-3 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to recognize Saida Torres, 1-4 who has been selected as a recipient of the Texas Woman's 1-5 University Centennial Scholarship this year; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Saida Torres is a senior at Sabinal High School 1-7 in Sabinal; she has held many student offices, was Junior Class 1-8 Treasurer, and is Senior Class President and editor of her school 1-9 newspaper this year; and 1-10 WHEREAS, A talented and industrious student, Saida is a 1-11 model for students of all ages in the State of Texas; her fellow 1-12 students see her as a leader at Sabinal High School; and 1-13 WHEREAS, An exemplary young woman with an engaging 1-14 personality, Saida strives for excellence in all her endeavors, 1-15 and she is a source of great pride for her family and her 1-16 community; now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-18 77th Legislature, hereby commend Saida Torres on her many 1-19 accomplishments and extend congratulations to her for winning 1-20 the Texas Woman's University Centennial Scholarship; and, be 2-1 it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-3 her as an expression of high esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-4 Madla 2-5 ______________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the above 2-8 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-9 on February 26, 2001. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
