1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 370 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Beatrice M. Zamora 1-6 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-7 of San Antonio in mourning the passing of Beatrice M. Zamora, who 1-8 died February 13, 2001; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Well known throughout the Edgewood Independent 1-10 School District, this remarkable woman will be remembered for 1-11 her notable contributions of her time and abilities to her 1-12 community; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Born February 27, 1928, the devoted wife, mother, 1-14 and grandmother believed firmly in a good education for all 1-15 children and worked diligently to accomplish this goal; 1-16 Mrs. Zamora served as a member and president of several 1-17 Parent-Teacher Associations and as a member of the Edgewood 1-18 School Board; she also presided over the Edgewood Council of 1-19 Parent-Teacher Associations; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Her interest in the welfare and progress of others 1-21 was also reflected in her work as president of the Center City 2-1 Club and Zone and Region Chairman for District 2-A2 for Lions 2-2 Clubs International; and 2-3 WHEREAS, Filling all the years allotted to her with great 2-4 kindness and loyal service to her family, friends, and community, 2-5 Mrs. Zamora leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment that 2-6 will be forever gratefully remembered by those who knew and 2-7 loved her; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-9 77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to 2-10 the family of Beatrice M. Zamora: her husband of 52 years, 2-11 Manuel S. Zamora, Jr.; her sons, Manuel S. Zamora, III and 2-12 Phillip Zamora; her daughter, Kathleen Z. Torres; and her seven 2-13 grandchildren and great-granddaughter; and, be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-15 members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from 2-16 the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it 2-17 do so in memory of Beatrice M.
