1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 378 1-3 WHEREAS, Recognizing the accomplishments of our young 1-4 citizens is one of the pleasurable tasks of public officials, 1-5 and it is indeed an honor for the Senate of the State of Texas 1-6 to congratulate the members of the Sonora Broncos on their 1-7 Class 2A Division I state championship; and 1-8 WHEREAS, The annals of Texas high school football history 1-9 will reflect the skill and determination of the Broncos as they 1-10 brought home their first state title since 1971 in a hard fought 1-11 27-24 victory over the Blanco Panthers; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Supported by Superintendent Dr. William Harlan, 1-13 Principal Brant Myers, and Band Director Thomas Bedwell, the 1-14 Athletic Director/Head Coach Jason Herring, Assistant 1-15 Coaches Drew Cox, Jimmy Randolph, Eddie Favila, Thomas Hanson, 1-16 Chad Russell, and Shane Mobley, and Student Trainers 1-17 Margie Becknell and Ashley Parker brought the Broncos to their 1-18 perfect 15-0 season, and they deserve credit for instilling in 1-19 the players a desire to perform to their highest potential; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The Sonora High School football team members, 1-21 Bryce Williams, Scottie Moore, James Elliott, Nick Lozano, 1-22 Jason Moore, Shane Mathews, Jacob Percifull, Sean Fields, 2-1 Chance Armke, Stetson Hall, Tom Jacoby, William Renfro, 2-2 Riley Crain, Cole Cearley, Thomas Bloodworth, Brandon Adkins, 2-3 Beau Hughes, Jerrad Solis, Chris Green, Anthony Sanchez, 2-4 Nathan Longoria, Byron Williams, Javier Gaytan, Dustin Patino, 2-5 Ricky Lumbreras, Chris Weingart, Israel Arevalo, Thomas Schenkel, 2-6 Jerimy Brown, Adam Mendez, Jake Trainer, Cameron Sims, Matt Torres, 2-7 Danny Solis, Ryan Hardgrave, and Ed Mayfield, are truly deserving 2-8 of the title they worked so hard and sacrificed so much to attain; 2-9 now, therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-11 77th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Sonora High School 2-12 Broncos on winning the Class 2A Division I state football 2-13 championship; and, be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-15 team as a memento of this outstanding achievement. 2-16 Madla 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 President of the Senate 2-19 I hereby certify that the above 2-20 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-21 on March 1, 2001. 2-22 ______________________________________ 2-23 Secretary of the Senate 2-24 ______________________________________ 2-25 Member, Texas Senate
