1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 403 1-3 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to honor 1-4 Neal Robert Moore of Cisco as he celebrates his 100th 1-5 birthday on March 16, 2001; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Born on March 16, 1901, in Parker County, 1-7 Mr. Moore had a productive career working in grocery stores 1-8 before retiring in 1966; he then restored homes with his grandsons 1-9 for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; 1-10 and 1-11 WHEREAS, Through the years, he has had many hobbies 1-12 and interests, including raising and selling plants and flowers 1-13 from his own greenhouse; in addition, Mr. Moore participated in 1-14 the prestigious Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1984, when he 1-15 donned a self-made cowboy clown outfit, and he performed with the 1-16 Cisco Junior College Wrangler Band and Belles; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A native Texan, he has enjoyed the love and 1-18 support of his wife, Thelma, for 64 years; the couple's union 1-19 is blessed with a daughter, three grandchildren, and a number 1-20 of great-grandchildren; and 1-21 WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman is also a longtime and 1-22 valued member of the Church of Christ, where he has served as a 2-1 deacon and as an elder; and 2-2 WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of a notable and highly 2-3 respected Texan is indeed worthy of special recognition, and 2-4 it is most appropriate to pay tribute to Mr. Moore at this time; 2-5 now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-7 77th Legislature, hereby congratulate Neal Robert Moore on 2-8 the joyous occasion of his 100th birthday and extend to him 2-9 sincere best wishes for continued good fortune and happiness; 2-10 and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 2-12 prepared for Mr. Moore as an expression of high regard by the 2-13 Texas Senate. 2-14 Sibley 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 President of the Senate 2-17 I hereby certify that the above 2-18 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-19 on March 5, 2001. 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Secretary of the Senate 2-22 ______________________________________ 2-23 Member, Texas Senate
