1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 468 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to join 1-4 the citizens of El Paso in recognizing Jesse O. Lascano for his 1-5 unwavering dedication to making a difference in his community, his 1-6 state, and his nation; and 1-7 WHEREAS, A graduate of Park College, he earned a bachelor of 1-8 science degree in social psychology, a master of arts in counseling 1-9 from Webster University, and an associate of applied science in 1-10 human services/substance abuse from El Paso Community College; and 1-11 WHEREAS, A highly decorated Vietnam veteran, he valiantly 1-12 served his country as a member of the United States Army for nearly 1-13 23 years; and 1-14 WHEREAS, His varied interests and educational background 1-15 have led to his involvement in numerous community organizations; he 1-16 is a member of The Foster Grandparents Program, Citizens Advisory 1-17 Committee to the Chief of Police, and the Tejano Democrats El Paso 1-18 chapter; he served as vice chair for Programs of the Associacion 1-19 de Lideres Mexico-Americanos, chair of the Police Central Regional 1-20 Command Citizen Advisory Board, and trainer with The Gang Ministry 1-21 Diocese of El Paso; and 1-22 WHEREAS, The writer and founder of Operation Alley CAT, 2-1 Mr. Lascano is also affiliated with the National and Texas 2-2 Associations of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, the Mexican 2-3 American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the Junior College 2-4 Student Personnel Association of Texas; and 2-5 WHEREAS, The diverse and noteworthy achievements of this 2-6 distinguished gentleman have contributed immeasurably to the 2-7 growth and progress of El Paso; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-9 77th Legislature, hereby express its heartfelt appreciation to 2-10 Jesse O.
