1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 469 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas proudly recognizes 1-4 the Reverend Harold G. Robinson, Jr., and Mrs. Robinson for 1-5 their loyal service to Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church of 1-6 Wallis, Texas; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church was organized 1-8 in 1895, and the deed to the small church edifice was recorded in 1-9 1920; plans for a new church building were made in 1959 under the 1-10 leadership of Reverend E. C. Crump; over the years, the church has 1-11 had an interior renovation and a number of improvements in structure 1-12 and landscaping; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Since joining Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1-14 Reverend and Mrs. Robinson have ministered faithfully to the 1-15 needs of its members; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Through his outstanding leadership, Pastor Robinson 1-17 has provided enlightenment, hope, and support to the Wallis 1-18 community; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Inspirational and caring, this beloved pastor has 1-20 dedicated his time and energy unselfishly to his congregation and 1-21 to other residents of Austin County; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Reverend Robinson initiated an Annual Community 2-1 Fun Day, an Annual Community Revival, the Wallis Enrichment 2-2 Program, Men and Women's Night Out, and the Monthly Communion 2-3 Fellowship; and 2-4 WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, 2-5 Pastor Robinson has performed numerous ceremonies and has prayed 2-6 for and counselled his church members during their hardships and 2-7 in times of bereavement; and 2-8 WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. Robinson have had a positive 2-9 influence on the lives of many Austin County Christians and under 2-10 their superb guidance and stewardship, Evergreen Missionary Baptist 2-11 Church will undoubtedly continue to flourish; now, therefore, be it 2-12 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-13 77th Legislature, hereby join the members of Evergreen Missionary 2-14 Baptist Church in commending Reverend and Mrs. Robinson for their 2-15 fervent service to their church, their fellowman, and their 2-16 community; and, be it further 2-17 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-18 them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-19 Ellis 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 President of the Senate 2-22 I hereby certify that the above 2-23 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-24 on March 14, 2001. 2-25 ______________________________________ 2-26 Secretary of the Senate 2-27 ______________________________________ 2-28 Member, Texas Senate
