1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 514 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased 1-4 to commend the participants at the Youth Forum of the 14th 1-5 National Youth Crime Prevention Conference, which will be held 1-6 April 7 through April 10, 2001, in Dallas; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Approximately 2,000 young people, adults, and 1-8 crime prevention activists will attend the National Youth Crime 1-9 Prevention Conference; and 1-10 WHEREAS, During the conference, young men and women will 1-11 attend a Youth Forum; they will discuss, develop, and present 1-12 their solutions to problems related to diversity, substance abuse, 1-13 education, community involvement, and parental/guardian involvement; 1-14 and 1-15 WHEREAS, Information learned in past Youth Forums has proven 1-16 extremely valuable and has led to the creation of such worthy 1-17 programs as the Bureau of Justice Assistants's Youth Forum Project 1-18 and the National Youth Network, which is sponsored by the Office 1-19 of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The National Youth Crime Prevention Conference is 2-1 of great importance; given the many dire issues facing teens in 2-2 our nation, the conference will produce solutions that will help 2-3 maintain the health and well-being of our nation's young; now, 2-4 therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-6 77th Legislature, hereby recognize the 2001 Youth Forum of the 2-7 14th National Youth Crime Prevention Conference; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-9 Youth Forum participants as an expression of high regard from the 2-10 Texas Senate. 2-11 West 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 President of the Senate 2-14 I hereby certify that the above 2-15 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-16 on March 20, 2001. 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Secretary of the Senate 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Member, Texas Senate
